Wall Stone Masonry

Our work includes laying foundations, bonding—arrangement of stones in a wall to give wall structural stability, which consists of bed bonding, face bonding, and balance in chosen pattern—random rubble, squared rubble or snecked rubble, using limestone, sandstone or granite and finishing with copings/capping using appropriate mix mortars.

Stone walls—particularly dry stone walls—have a long history in Ireland going back over 5,000 years, and especially in the West they are part of our landscape. Dry stone walls are made without mortar which gives them economical advantages: they are quicker to build and, when compared to mortered stone walls, require lower maintenance.
